Farriers' / Hoofprints All-Occasion Cards for Equine Professionals

How to send a card
Hand address the front. Don't forget your return address. Toss your business card inside. Write a short note. Sign your name. Choose appropriate sticker and apply it to the envelope or the inside of the card.

Why send a card?
1. To notify customers of changes. If you have a change in policy or pricing, it is a good idea to do it in writing. A new phone number will less likely be lost if it's accompanied by a colorful, interesting card.

2. Thank customers for their business or a referral. Appreciation expressed verbally is good, appreciation expressed in writing is even better.

3. A card can introduce you to potential new customers. Let horse owners know that you are accepting new clients. When prospecting for new accounts, be considerate of other farriers in the area. Do not encourage horse owners to change from a farrier that they are happy with. Join your local farrier association and get to know your colleagues. Many busy farriers welcome an opportunity to pass along some of their smaller or far away accounts to a new farrier who is able to give them good work and service.

Think you don't have time?
A quick note jotted inside a card, an envelope addressed, stamped and dropped in with your outgoing mail may well be less time consuming than a telephone call. We have all been involved in long drawn-out phone conversations that waste time and don't seem to have a point.

HoofPrints owner Gina Keesling's note:
"Single blacksmith postcards sell for much more than this on ebay - this is a great deal for anyone crafty to frame these up, make collages, do scrapbooks, etc. All the cool stuff I was planning to do with them when I got time. I've finally decided to move on and let them go. You can get inexpensive black frames at the dollar store, frame these up and hang them as a group on the wall in your den. Stick a couple worn-out tools up there, and an empty Hooflex can or two... you'll be as quaint as Cracker Barrel!"
