Farrier Gloves
|
A note from HoofPrints owner Gina Keesling about gloves:
We started with the IronClad gloves, and soon were protecting farriers' hands all over the world from cuts, scrapes, scratches and burns. However, farriers are a passionate group - and not all of them loved the gloves as much as we'd hoped. There were fit issues, and wear issues, and traction issues...
When we happened upon another manufacturer that offered a different style of farrier glove we promptly sent samples to several of our regular glove customers to evaluate for us. The response was disheartening - we received the exact same number of "I LOVE these" reviews, as "I HATE these" reviews. (typical passionate, opinionated farriers) Then along came another brand of Farrier glove, and another... I was overwhelmed with options, to say the least.
So here they all are. Different designs, different materials, different prices. We think they're all pretty good. You can try them to see which is your personal favorite. Be sure to let us know what you think.

SOME NOTES ABOUT CHOOSING THE CORRECT SIZE:
Trying to make this easy about drove us crazy! We are pleased to offer different manufacturer's rendition of this glove - but the sizing recommendations were inconsistent... So keep that in mind as you choose your perfect glove. They need to fit snugly so there is no slipping or bunching as you work, but if they are too tight they can be binding, and seams can fail prematurely. If you are between sizes it is usually better to choose the larger size. If you order gloves and they do not fit correctly, please call us and we will arrange for an exchange. Like shoes on a horse, correct fit on these gloves is very important!

For the chart to work right, the distance between the thick red line and the size SMALL line needs to be 3 inches.
If your computer monitor is not set to use the measuring chart, place your hand on a ruler and measure the width of your four fingers.
SMALL = 3 inches
MEDIUM = 3.5 inches
LARGE = 4 inches
X-LARGE = 4.5 inches
XX-LARGE = 5 inches
