Item #MDSM - $14.95 Horse Woman's Disappearing Stress Mug This is an 11 oz white ceramic mug with a fun twist. It's imprinted all over with black, dreary words. Words that are probably all too familiar to most of us: TENSION, STRESS, PROBLEMS, TROUBLES, ANXIETY, etc. Fill the cup with hot liquid, and the most amazing thing happens. Those words dissolve away, revealing seven lovely scenes of women and their horses. As the cup cools, the words reappear. It works over and over again (we certainly gave the prototype a workout). Wash by hand. |

Horse Woman Applique Sweatshirt This chocolatey brown sweatshirt has been years in the making. While shopping, I saw some fabric that looked like tooled leather. It was expensive, but I bought up a whole bolt of it - intending to use it on a shirt design that I had on the drawing board. When the sample was made of that design, it looked terrible. So, sadly, I put my treasure aside. The fabric "haunted" me - it was the upholstery in a gorgeous Sundowner horse trailer at a trade show. It was the background of a sample book I received from an author (see "The Gift" above left.) Still - nothing worked out design wise. Then, we got a sample shirt in - in this lovely brown - intending to market it to men. Candy dashed to the warehouse, grabbed the forgotten fabric, and an idea was born! We think it was worth the wait. |

What's up with the "OLD LADY" stuff? Gina's note: The past few years have brought epiphanies for me. Struggles with my mare Allie brought into focus the fact that I no longer possessed the riding skills of my younger years. You know - the skills that let you demand that your horse do your bidding, because you know you can ride out whatever resistance he could muster in protest. When it became clear that yes, I could indeed fall off and get hurt, I became a lot less bossy. Now, when Allie tells me that a request is unreasonable, I listen. My relationship with horses has entered a new phase, and I've met many other women who've arrived at this place with me. These items are for those of us who plan to never be without horses in our lives... |
