Each month is a hilarious (and accurate) depiction of a farrier scene, paired with Things Not To Say To A Farrier quotes. Art is by Lesley Bruce. Lesley hails from France, but apparently they have virtually the same farrier related challenges there as we do here in the USA. She's drawn twelve of them perfectly, with pictures illustrating cringeworthy comments such as "I forgot you were coming; I just turned everybody out." "I know he is bad to shoe, but he is so good on trails." and more...
July features a situation that's all too common - sweltering working conditions, at least one difficult horse, and a clueless owner whose comments are better left unsaid; "Hot enough for ya?" along with "I save the good fly spray for the horse shows." and "When you get that horse shod could you help me put this hay up in the barn?" and the soul-crushing "I saved the worst one for last."
Nearly every month also features at least one dog, doing not-very-helpful dog stuff, as these are here, underfoot, eating hoof trimmings. The year is already past, but this artwork is golden; save it for scrapbooks, framing, cut out and paste on heavy paper to make an oversize greeting card!
