I bought this to do touch ups on my own gang between farrier visits. Before I had a chance to use it I tore my rotator cuff. After expensive shoulder surgery and lengthy rehab I've decided to leave all the hoof maintenance to the pros and not risk reinjury. This is brand new, still in the box with original instructions.
The solid curved blade design creates a nice rolled edge on the hoof. Good for addressing minor chips and keeping things looking neat. Replacement blades are available here
