REVIEWS for OUR UNIVERSE:"This was the holy grail of my childhood library. I would always go straight to this huge book when we had library time. It was on a wooden slanted shelf with a bottom lip so little kids didn't have to bear the full weight to read it. I can honestly say this book heavily influenced my interest in science and astronomy for my entire life. Beautiful, inspiring paintings with easy to read and understand text suitable for young children. This book takes you from the surface of the earth to the planets of the solar system and beyond to the edge of the universe unraveling the mystery of the cosmos. I have it on my coffee table now and read it often as an adult with much nostalgia and continued interest. The cover art by John Berkey alone is worth the purchase."
"I had the original version as a kid, and I ordered this for my son in a fit of nostalgia when I saw a random picture of the book somewhere. Unfortunately, the part of the original edition that truly lit up my imagination as a kid (a path leading to studying aerospace engineering and getting a PhD) - the hypothetical concept art of what life might look like on other planets - is absent from the revised 1986 edition. No more ever-stomping Venusians, no more Plutonian zistles. *NOTE - THIS VERSION DOES HAVE THE CONCEPT ART*
