Nose-It Horse Slow Feeder *USED - ONLY 1 AVAILABLE* Price is for one feeder - $24.98 each
I bought these for my insulin resistant mare. They work great. A bit tedious to fill, though. My fence is high enough off the ground that they kept ending up out of reach. An ideal arrangement would have been to put these in a big trough or other low feeder where contents are not dispensed on the ground and it can't roll out of reach.
These are scuffed and banged up, but no cracks or other structural damage. I cleaned the inside the best I could with a steam cleaner/power washer. The lip inside the hole makes it really hard to get every last bit of water and remaining crumbs out. If I were going to keep them to use, I'd drill a small hole so they could more easily drain. 10" tall x 12" wide, holds about 5-6 pounds.
New ones are $49.95 at Dover here
Manufacturer's description
Horses are meant to graze, right? Nose-It! works with your horse's natural grazing instincts, letting your horse earn his/her food. As it rotates, food cubes, wafers, or treats will disperse on the ground. The distinct shape of Nose-It! separates it from many horse toys or other horse treat balls. It is designed to limit rolling ability, therefore limiting the possibility of rolling away.
Innovative Design - No lightweight horse toy. Although it only weighs 3lbs empty, it's strong! Made in USA of revolutionary materials and moulding techniques meaning, NO seams to burst or break. Your horse can kick, stomp, even STAND on it!
Fill the Nose-It! Treat Ball with treats or food to keep your horse (or dog) happy and entertained indoors or out! Made of a non-breakable, FDA food compliant polymer, this durable toy has a patented 12-sided design that makes it roll slowly as the animal plays. Easy to fill, Nose-It! is a controlled treat dispenser or slow feeding system for grain rations - either way your horse has fun. This original 10" size for small treats has a 1 1/2" diameter hole-perfect for carrot chunks, mini hay cubes or wafer-style complete feeds and treats. A slight lip inside the hole prevents food from pouring out all at once. Weighs approximately 3 pounds empty and can hold twice its weight. Note: when using Nose-It! as a slow feed system or for stall-bound animals, place it in a feed tub or pan to prevent excessive ingestion of sand or bedding.
