Shane Cottle, born October 22, 1971, in Kokomo, Indiana, has built a long and respected career in open-wheel dirt racing, competing in USAC National Sprint Car, USAC Silver Crown, and midget events. Nicknamed “The Throttle,” he is a multi-time champion at Indiana bullrings, including back-to-back Kokomo Speedway sprint car titles in 2004 and 2005 plus the 2004 Gas City Speedway sprint car championship. Cottle is also a two-time Indiana Midget Week champion and has scored feature wins with USAC national sprints, USAC/CRA sprints, and USAC national midgets, underscoring his reputation as a smooth, patient racer who excels on slick dirt surfaces.
