Vintage Little Black Dress by R-Ware *ONLY ONE AVAILABLE size 9*
Mannequin in picture is approximately size 8, this dress fits as shown. Fabric is polyester. It's fully lined in taffeta to just above the knee. Mannequin is about 5'8"? and length hits as shown. It's hard to guess her height exactly with her feet being configured on tippy-toes.
It looks to be like new. How I ended up with it is a convoluted story involving abandoned real estate and a great deal of un-neccessary hoarding from decades ago that I am still dealing with the aftermath of. I've never worn it - always wanted to as it's gorgeous and so elegant looking. I washed it and it hung in my closet for decades while I would look at it occasionally and lament that I never had occasion to wear. Care instructions say "Dry Clean Only" but I can attest that it survived the washing machine just fine - one time anyway. I can't remember for sure but I think I probably hung it to dry.
R-Wear was a sib-label within the Rampage brand - and the style was classic in 1900s fashion. There's one exactly like it on ebay for $75 here (as of late November 2025)
I love this dress so much that I don't care much if it doesn't sell (so it's priced accordingly) - but it does make me feel better that I AM TRYING to sell it - so here you are with a front-row seat to what it looks like when hoarding and decluttering efforts collide. You'll notice that the mannequin is white in some of these images, and grey in others. That's because I actually photographed this dress once - changed my mind and decided to keep it - it sat in the closet for a couple more years, during which time I gave the mannequin a makeover. I talked about that back in 2024 here.It wasn't until after I went to the trouble to wrestle this dress on her again, take the pictures, edit them, and begin to create a listing online - that I realized I had ALREADY DONE ALL THE PHOTOS. I think the second batch turned out better, but hopefully they all give shoppers the information the need about this lovely dress.
